Okay, then,National Innovation Agency (Public Organization): NIAandVISUP, a Thai startup acceleratorAnd an event aimed at creating business partnerships between Japanese and Thai companiesTHAI DEEPTECH SHOWCASE 2026 in IBARAKIOfThursday, May 28, 2026Co-hosted by the Ibaraki Prefectural Government. Participation is free of charge.

This session will explore the possibilities of technological collaboration, manufacturing and processing collaboration, demonstration projects, market development, and R&D collaboration with Ibaraki Prefecture companies, as representatives from NIA, a Thai governmental innovation agency, and Thai startups operating in fields such as materials, food tech, biotechnology, and inspection technology, will visit the prefecture.

On the day, in addition to an introduction to Thailand's innovation trends by NIA, there will be technology and business presentations by Thai startups, and business matching meetings with companies from the prefecture. Startups scheduled to visit the prefecture include companies specializing in sustainable materials utilizing biomass waste, nano-coating for solar panels and electronic boards, sustainable surface coating, alternative proteins derived from rice bran, inspection technology for food safety and healthcare, and functional materials.

We will specifically discuss what kind of cooperation and support Ibaraki Prefecture companies and support organizations can provide when Thai companies consider expanding their business in Japan.

This is a valuable opportunity for companies interested in collaborating with overseas companies, those seeking to connect with Southeast Asia, companies exploring new technologies, products, or business themes, and industry support organizations wishing to support overseas collaboration of companies within the prefecture, allowing them to directly engage in dialogue with local government agencies and overseas startups.

We will overcome the fixed idea that "collaboration with overseas entities is only possible in Tokyo" and create opportunities for co-creation that can only be found in Ibaraki.

This project isBusiness Matching Project with Promising Foreign Companies for FY2026is being implemented, and the purpose is to support business matching between companies in Ibaraki Prefecture and foreign companies, with the aim of incorporating excellent foreign human resources and technologies in the future and further fostering innovation and job creation.
