Under the auspices of the Ministry of Science and ICT (MSIT) and the National Information and Communication Industries Promotion Agency (NIPA), and in collaboration with Korea Technology Venture Corporation, LIBANESS held the “Japan-Korea Business Connect Fukuoka 2026 – Pitch & Business Discussion Event” on Thursday, October 8, at the Zero-Ten Park HALL in Fukuoka City. Five South Korean SaaS startups took the stage, with 35 attendees from Japanese companies and support organizations in attendance. Through pitching sessions, individual business discussions, and networking, they discussed the potential for utilizing their services in the Japanese market and establishing business partnerships.
Based on the concept of inbound globalization, Liberance is promoting the development of venture companies in Japan in collaboration with overseas government agencies and working to revitalize companies in Japan. This event was planned as an opportunity for South Korean startups aiming to expand their business in Japan to interact directly with Japanese companies and organizations interested in introducing technologies and services. By sharing the challenges each company’s services address and the needs of Japan’s local scene, we created a platform to discuss implementation, demonstration, and sales collaboration.
Opening remarks
Kim Hyun-jong, Representative Director of Korea Technology Venture Co., Ltd.
South Korean startups have AI-related technological capabilities and are fast at developing them. Moreover, they have a strong intention to go global after launching their startups.
Japan and South Korea have common challenges such as labor shortages, the promotion of DX, and the utilization of AI. We believe that the five South Korean startups that have come to Japan today can contribute to solving these issues that Japan is facing.
The form of cooperation that 5 companies are looking for is primarily business matching. However, it is not immediately possible to turn this into a business from the outset, so we are interested in PoC, or proof of concept. Through PoC, we are creating results and building on those results to expand the business. We are considering this approach.
I have also been working to serve as a bridge between Japan and South Korea. I hope to carry out useful activities between Japan and South Korea. Through business matching and open innovation, I intend to continue working to further deepen business exchanges between the two countries. Thank you very much.
Five South Korean SaaS startups took the stage
At the pitch session, five companies that operate in the fields of personal information protection, corporate legal affairs, AI agents, administrative support, and advertising management took the stage. They introduced their company’s technology and service features, the expected use cases in the Japanese market, and the collaboration they seek.
One peopleIntroducing "CATCHSECU", a service that supports the management of personal information consent acquisition, storage, and disposal, and automates corporate personal information protection-related operations.
B-LAWIntroducing solutions that support corporate legal affairs, such as contract review and management, and legal consultation. By utilizing AI, these solutions aim to improve the efficiency of legal departments’ operations.
WondersLabIntroducing the development and operation of AI agents tailored to corporate operations. Suggestions for utilizing them in information screening and evaluation, as well as information dissemination through generative AI.
EasyTaskIntroducing online administrative support that allows you to request only the time you need. By combining AI with human expertise, it supports companies in carrying out their operations.
PangoGYIntroducing Pango Neuro, an AI service that supports ad operations and effectiveness analysis. It proposes its use to reduce the workload associated with ad operations and analysis.
Discussions on utilizing it in the Japanese market will be held in individual business meetings.
In the individual business discussions after the pitch, we held meetings with five companies based on the interests of the attendees. Participants and companies discussed specific usage scenarios for the services, challenges when introducing them, and how to connect with customers and partners in Japan. The communicator from Liberance also joined the discussion, helping to organize the issues and strengths of both parties while supporting the dialogue. In addition to the arrangements made in advance, we also held one-on-one meetings tailored to the interests of the day, continuing the exchange during the networking time as well.
As a catalyst for cross-border business collaboration
To leverage overseas technologies and services in Japan, in addition to introducing the features, it is important to understand the operations and market characteristics of the companies using them and to fine-tune the conditions for actual implementation. This pitch and business discussion provided an opportunity for South Korean and Japanese participants to share their respective challenges and expectations.
Rebinesse leverages its network with companies, researchers, local governments, and support organizations both domestically and internationally, working to bridge knowledge across national and sectoral boundaries. In the future, through dialogues with overseas startups and local companies in Japan, we will create opportunities for leveraging technology and new business partnerships.
