Through this alliance, we will further strengthen our support for science and technology-driven startups in Japan and Taiwan, and accelerate the construction of a deep tech ecosystem centered on Asia.

Based on the philosophy of "realizing the development of science and technology and contributing to the Earth," RIVERNESS has been promoting the realization of knowledge manufacturing through collaboration with universities, research institutions, and startups. As part of this effort, since 2014, RIVERNESS has been working on a startup discovery and nurturing program in the field of deep tech, calledTECH PLANTER(TechPlanter)" was launched and has been deployed in Japan and abroad.

In Taiwan, from 2014 to 2017, we have conducted TECH PLANTER based in Taipei, Taichung, Kaohsiung, and other cities, and have worked with several universities and accelerators to discover deep tech startups. During this period, we have also worked with IAPS and have collaborated with them in the field of entrepreneurship development in Taiwan.

IAPS is responsible for the operation of ASPN (APEC Sport Policy Network) and aims to accelerate the overseas expansion of sports tech startups in Taiwan and other Asian countries and the entry of Japanese and other foreign companies into Taiwan. On this occasion, seven startups selected for the ASPN Sports Tech Accelerator (from Taiwan, Malaysia, and Korea) visited Japan with Prof. Hank Huang, Managing Director of IAPS, to exchange views on their plans for expansion in Japan.

The MOU is intended to further develop the cooperative relationship between the two parties and to make the startup support between Taiwan and Japan more sustainable and effective.
