Switzerland has one of the highest R&D expenditures per capita in the world, and its R&D investment as a percentage of GDP remains high at approximately 3.4%. Switzerland has outstanding technological capabilities in fields such as pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, and precision machinery, and its research institutes, including the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) Zurich, have earned a global reputation. Many international organizations, including the European headquarters of the United Nations, are clustered in the country, and the country's position as a neutral country provides opportunities for global technological demonstration. In addition, there is an extremely high awareness of intellectual property protection, creating an environment suitable for the safe development and deployment of deep technology. RIVANES will promote the international standardization of Japanese deep tech through technology demonstrations in this region.

TECH PLANTER is a deep tech venture ecosystem that solves unsolved "deep issues" with "deep tech", a collection of science and technology. TECH PLANTER WORLD in UK is held to connect the ecosystem in the UK and Europe with startups in Japan and Southeast Asia to promote market development, technology collaboration, and joint business.
