Belgium
Belgium is the political and economic center of Europe, home to the EU headquarters, and is a country with a very strong orientation toward international collaboration, with an export dependency ratio of approximately 80% of GDP. Belgium is highly competitive in the fields of biotechnology and agri-food, and in particular boasts Europe's top level of research in plant science. Universities such as Ghent University and Leuven University are working closely with industry in the areas of plant breeding, fermentation, and food tech to accelerate the commercialization of research results. It is also an important gateway for technology demonstration and market deployment due to its access to European regulations and markets. RIVANES will continue to jointly demonstrate sustainable agri-food technologies based in Belgium, leading to their deployment throughout Europe.
Project
TECH PLANTER is a deep tech venture ecosystem that solves unsolved "deep issues" with "deep tech", a collection of science and technology. TECH PLANTER WORLD in UK is held to connect the ecosystem in the UK and Europe with startups in Japan and Southeast Asia to promote market development, technology collaboration, and joint business.
