RIVERNESS will host a panel discussion, "TECH PLANTER World Communication," at the Tokyo-Kanto Conference of the Association of Hyperdifferent Fields 2024, organized by RIVERNESS. This program will feature speakers from overseas, and the discussion will be conducted entirely in English.

ASEAN is expected to become even more important to Japan in the future due to its geographical proximity and small time difference, in addition to expectations for population and economic growth. At TECH PLANTER World Communication, we would like to present to you the world view of the entrepreneurs in each country. From their conversations, we can imagine a future in which Japan and ASEAN will become partners in building a society together.

Two leading drone manufacturers from Japan and Malaysia will discuss how they can leverage each other's strengths to connect Japan and Southeast Asia to solve social issues by comparing the characteristics of manufacturing and manufacturing sites in both countries and their differences. For companies looking to expand overseas, especially into Southeast Asia, this session will provide hints on how to cooperate with local companies.

Mr. Shian Lee

Fascinated from an early age with the science and technology that makes flight possible, he earned his Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering from Nanyang Technological University, where he was one of the pioneers in researching UAV control and worked on projects funded by the Department of Defense. He has worked on simultaneous localization mapping (SLAM), flight simulation, artificial intelligence, multi-agent systems (swarming), and battery technology. He is currently deeply involved in the development of electric flight. He is trying to change the nature of aeronautical technology to realize a future of aeronautical flight with reduced environmental impact.

Mr. Satoyuki Washitani
President and Representative Director, ACSL, Inc.

He joined ACSL in July 2016. Previously, he worked for McKinsey & Company in Japan and Sweden on management reform projects for Japanese and European companies. He holds a Master's degree from the Graduate School of Creative Science and Engineering, Waseda University.

D. in Science. While in school, he explored the origin of life through his study abroad experience in the U.S. In 2013, he joined LIVERNESS, Inc. In the Human Resource Development Division, he developed U.S. training programs for young Japanese researchers. After two years as a general manager of the division, he became the editor-in-chief of the booklet "Founding Support" and engaged in dialogue with many venture executives. Later, after gaining experience in assisting Japanese deep-tech startups to enter Southeast Asia and Southeast Asian startups to enter the Japanese market, he became the General Manager of the Group Development Business Division in October 2021. He aims to establish a knowledge platform that integrates Southeast Asia and Japan in order to maximize the RIVERNESS Group.

He received his Bachelor's Degree in Agrochemistry from the University of the Philippines, Los Baños. He is a registered chemist, a national qualification in the Philippines, and works as a university researcher in the Biological Control Research Unit of De La Salle University. He is currently working on a project on the use of biological approaches to crop pest control.

A bioengineer with a passion for bringing science and technology to market and contributing to society. He has expertise in the fields of oncology, neuroscience, and stem cells, and is involved in the development of mammalian cell-based in-vitro platforms. He has over 13 years of experience leading multidisciplinary scientific and medical programs in cell and tissue applied technologies, skin, hair, and medical technologies, and in vitro diagnostics with multiple pharmaceutical partners.

Born in Iloilo, Republic of the Philippines, he graduated from the University of the Philippines - Visayas Campus in 2010 (B.S. Chemistry) and worked as a chemistry lecturer at the University of the Philippines - Manila Campus. 2013, he came to Japan and entered the Kumamoto University - MEXT HIGO Program. 2015, M.S. (Health Life Science). D. (Health Life Science and Pharmaceutical Science) in 2018. After graduation, he worked for IntraLink, a business consulting firm that assisted Western biotech and medical device companies to expand their business in Japan through sales representation, etc. He has been in his current position since May 2020. After working in the Education Development Division and the Founding Development Division, he established a Philippine subsidiary in 2021 and assumed the position of representative.
