Leave a Nest Co., Ltd. with collaboration with Ibaraki Prefecture continues the interesting program for the 3rd year from 2024 to invite deep tech startups from Southeast Asia who are interested in the Japanese market and seeking research, development, and POC partners.
Ibaraki Prefecture has abundant natural, land assets and technology resources since it is well-known in agriculture, the manufacturing hub of global manufacturing companies such as HITACHI and top-tier research institutes such as Tsukuba University and JAXA. Moreover, Ibaraki prefecture has rich support for overseas companies who plan to start business in the prefecture such as subsidies and VISA application support etc.

Leave a Nest will support you to develop hypotheses of your landing in the Japanese market, deepen understanding about Ibaraki Prefecture and explore partner companies in the prefecture together.

The selection will be conducted with Ibaraki Prefecture by considering your final application document.
The points we value in the selection are impact and compatibility of your technology to the Japanese market, your mindset and determination.
The program timeline
This program is scheduled throughout the fiscal year as follows:
– Now: Application Open
– Now – 20 July: Interview and brush up support period
– August : Document selection for 5 potential startups.
– September – March : The program implementation.

Introduction of potential Japanese partners
Leave a Nest will introduce companies in Ibaraki Prefecture to companies in Southeast Asia who wish to expand into Japan. We can arrange online meeting(s) with Ibaraki companies for further decision. -
Application to the program
Your company must submit application including your hypothesis of collaboration with local Ibaraki company or organization via this form . -
Selection process
Based on the submitted proposal, Leave a Nest and the Government of Ibaraki Prefecture will select the participating companies (August). -
Hands-on support
Leave a Nest will provide selected companies with hands-on support for your Japan market entry. (September – February)
Previous year collaboration
– Alterno (Vietnam)
A tech venture who develops batteries from sand. They connected with Kikuchi Seiki during the program in 2024. Now, it is conducting the POC and established a company in Ibaraki Prefecture.
– Anitech (Philippines)
An IT tech startup which develops IT systems to monitor agricultural data and control the environment in the farms. It continues development and POC with Koibuchi Gakuen.
–Plant origin (Thailand)
It produces alternative egg protein from rice bran and it is collaborating in developing a new product with Koji Lab from Tsukuba University.
– Regene Bio Pte. Ltd (Thailand)
It produces non-cow milk from microbe fermentation. Now, it is working with Quantum Flowers & Foods to develop quality of its milk product
– Cleantech and Beyond (Thailand)
It produces a temperature detection tag with an IOT system. It is under development and POC with Chinone Electric.
– GreenVisionPH (Philippines)
It develops organic and eco-friendly fertilizer from agricultural waste. It is working with Koibuchi Gakuen for the POC.
