Launched a project to support overseas expansion through collaboration between Japanese startups and local ASEAN institutions
Startups that wish to expand their business to Singapore, Thailand, and Malaysia through this program are invited to apply (deadline 7/3)!
Thank you for your many submissions!
Business Overview
Recently, while the major ASEAN countries have achieved sustained growth, various social issues have begun to emerge due to the rapid social changes that accompany economic growth.
While there are many Japanese startups with solutions that contribute to solving these social issues, they face challenges in developing local business through collaboration with ASEAN companies, such as how to select and approach local partners, how to proceed with pitches and negotiations for collaboration, and how to build networks in the local ecosystem. How to select and approach local partners, how to proceed with pitches and negotiations for collaboration, how to build networks in the local ecosystem, etc.
The program provides Japanese startups considering business development in ASEAN countries (Singapore, Thailand, and Malaysia) with assistance in developing strategies through individual mentoring, searching for local partners, attending and advising on interviews and business meetings with local companies, and providing advice on how to prepare for pitching events. The result of this support will be the development of joint ventures and joint research projects. As a result, we aim to create concrete collaborations with ASEAN companies, such as joint businesses, joint research, capital tie-ups, and the establishment of JVs.
*This program is being implemented in response to the ASEAN-Japan Economic and Industrial Cooperation Committee's (AMEICC) call for proposals for the "Project to Promote Overseas Expansion of Japanese Startups through Collaboration with ASEAN Companies".
*Similar programs are also conducted in Vietnam, Indonesia, and the Philippines under contract to other operators.
