In 2023, we will open the Center of Garage Malaysia, an incubation facility in Cyberjaya, a special economic zone in Malaysia, where more than 10 Japanese ventures have already established a base to expand into Southeast Asia.<\/p>\n

FiberCraze Corporation (Representative: Shunya Nagasogabe, hereinafter called \"FiberCraze\") is a venture company founded by Gifu University in 2021. With the vision of \"Weaving together the future of humanity and the earth with microscopic technology,\" FiberCraze is developing highly functional materials that contain insect repellents for dengue fever, malaria, etc., using advanced fiber material \"Craze-tex,\" the world's first fiber material that uses porous technology for fiber and film, and other applications in the health care and various industrial fields. In 2021, RIVANES won the Grand Prize at the 1st Gifu Tech Plan Grand Prix held in Gifu Prefecture, and in 2023, RIVANES (Jermination Fund No.1 Investment Limited Liability Partnership), HASETORA Spinning Co. By making site visits to two countries, Malaysia and Indonesia, and through RIVERNESS' connections with top local universities, the company has been able to search for a partner for joint research on the effectiveness of insecticide fibers against local mosquitoes that carry dengue fever, malaria, and other diseases, and to discuss collaboration with the company. The two countries have searched for partners and discussed collaboration. In addition, with the opening of RIVANES' Malaysian incubation facility, Center of Garage Malaysia, in January 2024, FiberCraze moved into the facility, enabling the company to establish a business base in Malaysia.<\/p>\n

After repeated discussions with TIDREC, Malaysia's top university research center for infectious diseases, we have now concluded an MoA on joint research.<\/p>\n

In recent years, Southeast Asia has been facing growing challenges from infectious diseases such as dengue fever and malaria, exacerbated by climate change and urbanization. Climate change has expanded the habitat for mosquitoes, increasing the transmission range of these diseases. In addition, mosquitoes have become resistant to conventional insecticides, making the prevention and control of infectious diseases more difficult. The partnership between FiberCraze and the University of Malaya TIDREC seeks sustainable and innovative solutions to this challenge. The MoA combines FiberCraze's fiber technology with the University of Malaya TIDREC's expertise in local mosquito research to explore the possibility of using fiber to help people control resistant Southeast Asian mosquitoes.<\/p>\n
